The Discovery of Manipo (Part 2)

A Startling Dream

Dreams do come true if you pray or wish hard enough. "What you speak can become reality" is a hallmark of the god consciousness revolution. I'm not sold on such theology but at the moment I saw that young man disappear into the ground I wanted to believe that I was capable of being on equal terms with the Master of the Universe. That's how badly I wanted to know about the fate of Eden.

For just a few moments of weakness I wanted to be able to demand that the universe allow me to enter into the Garden, again. I wanted to demand that I be allowed to stay so that I could understand Eden’s entire story. Luckily, I regained my sanity very quickly. Otherwise, I would've attempted to war with the Creator.

Insane, right???!!!

To think that I would've allowed myself to selfishly attack Yahweh. I just got so caught up in my selfish ideation that I hadn’t realized how foolish I was for even considering challenging the Creator. I wasn't even a challenge for the cherubim. I thought to myself, "Hue, maybe this isn’t such a good idea. Some things just aren't meant to be understood." Giving up just started to seem like the best option at that point. However, I had decided not to rush my decision and focused on getting a good night's sleep, instead. I was exhausted and needed to rejuvenate to think clearly.

Under normal circumstances I'd go back to the present time and sleep in one of my many mansions, but I was dangerously low on energy. Had to go with my backup plan. (I really did want to sleep in my own bed, though!)

Around this time, I was still trying to understand how to fully utilize my powers. Still trying to ascertain its limits. Here's what I knew.

  1. I could time travel. The process is different depending on whether or not I've been someplace before or I've seen it by looking through photographs or pictures. If I haven't been to a place where I want to go or can't visualize, I have to do some research and rewind time backward or forward. Though my powers can cover a wide area, I usually only focus my energy on myself. The first time I did it, my head spun around as I watched the scenery go backward like a movie on rewind. When I reached my destination, I puked. (Needless to say, but it took a few more times before I got used to it.) I much preferred my ulterior way of time travel which enables me to instantly transport myself to a place I've been or can see. A similar concept can be seen in the movie Jumper.

  2. I can affect inanimate and animate objects by aging them backward or forward to the point of non-existence.

  3. In battles against moving opponents, I can slow down or speed up my movements. I can also apply the same technique against my foes. (Outside of the cherubim, of course. They were completely unaffected!)

  4. This last one might be a bit confusing. I know it was to me. You see somehow, I could create spaces that existed outside of time. I would eventually figure out why and I will unveil the reasoning to you at the proper moment.

Now you may be wondering why I am telling you all this? It is because in one of the spaces I created a bedroom. It was at a time that I didn't have a lot of money. So, it was pretty rundown. The walls were brick-layered and multi-colored, bringing life to what would have otherwise been a cramped space - detrimental to any person suffering from depression. I had a night light that lit up the entire space and a dresser drawer with only a few belongings inside. Never thought that I'd actually use the space again once I became wealthy but there, I was lying on top of a squeaky mattress covered with wrinkly bed sheets illustrating a symbol for time.

Falling to sleep took no effort at all. Even against the chillness of the air (which I didn't find odd at the time) my fatigue was the greater force.

Behind my closed eyes a few images enveloped my thoughts. Vivid dreams of a future that I was sure would come to pass played out like a movie. The anchor for these events was that young man I had seen fall into the ground - an image my dreams decided to replay. From there, my visions began to flash violently before my eyes and an authoritative voice rang through my ears like that of the cherubim but with less baritone.

Though the visions seemed to be aiming for obscurity, the voice tried to make sense of them. First there was the cave, then there was the young man - David Jaakobah - I heard the voice bellow. Then it reduced its tone and said, "He will not be stopped. Only at the appointed time."

What did it mean, "he could not be stopped" and "at the appointed time?" I was so confused, but I didn't have time to dwell on it, the voice and images had already moved on.

Three other strangers flashed before my eyes. They appeared to vary in age. The voice said, "Gravity, space, and time." Then something about a reward for unyielding faith.

Still in the cave, David walked by me, distorting an already blurred scene before me, even more. I wondered where he was headed, so I kept an eye on him and saw that he was headed toward an object in the distance that was unaffected by the blur. I couldn't make out what it was, but I could see just enough to know that David had managed to acquire it.

In a final vision, David suddenly appeared before me. I could feel his breath against my face as I became awestruck by his appearance. His beauty was so electrifying that it paralyzed me. I was scared at how intrusive he could be while wanting him to have kissed me all at the same time. Crazily, I had never thought of sexuality as a spectrum. Yet, in a mere instant that mysterious young man had changed my thinking. Seriously, I could've been trapped in that moment for eternity and been happy.

As it so happened, eternity for me was not in that moment for as quick as he appeared, he vanished. Simultaneously, I heard the voice that had been speaking bellow "DECEIVERRRRR" before forcing me awake.
